Matt Ertle

Bio:

Matt Ertle serves as the Network Operations Director at the Eastern Shore of Virginia Broadband Authority (ESVBA). 

With almost 20 years experience in critical communications across both terrestrial and maritime environments, Matt is known for delivering reliable connectivity solutions in even the most remote and challenging locations. His technical leadership and commitment to operational excellence have been instrumental in expanding broadband access to underserved communities. For Matt, network operations is more than monitoring, it’s keeping communications infrastructure online with the knowledge that public safety depends on it.  

Growing up in the mountains of Western Pennsylvania, he’s driven to bring world-class connectivity to communities that have been left behind. He doesn’t just manage networks—he builds lifelines.  
Outside the NOC, Matt’s a skilled chef, heritage sheep and fig farmer, vintage Toyota enthusiast, and boatbuilder.
