Bio:
Bob Knight has served on Ridgefield’s Economic & Community Development Commission since 2008 and is now in his fifth term. He led the Commission as Chair from 2008–2012, spearheading the creation of the Town’s 2010 Economic Development Action Plan.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Knight served as Ridgefield’s Deputy Recovery Coordinator, guiding the town’s economic recovery efforts. He worked closely with the Governor’s Office and state officials to relicense school bus drivers, enabling schools to accelerate reopening.
Knight was instrumental in advancing Ridgefield’s fiber optic connectivity, helping facilitate a community-wide fiber deployment in partnership with private sector providers. He serves as Co-Chair of the Public Officials Committee of the Fiber Broadband Association and was Board Secretary of the American Association for Public Broadband from 2022–2024. He has also represented Ridgefield on the State of Connecticut’s Region 5 Long Term Recovery Committee, ensuring the town’s voice is heard in regional planning and resilience efforts.
In the private sector, Knight is CEO of Harry Marketing, the leading agency in the broadband space, serving clients across the U.S. and internationally. Earlier in his career, he was a popular radio personality, with his voice heard in major markets including New York, Chicago, and San Francisco.
