Bio:
I founded and served as the Executive Director of the Schools, Health & Libraries Broadband (SHLB) Coalition from 2009 to 2025. I expanded the coalition to over 300 members and participated in several E-rate and Rural Health Care reforms at the FCC. We also succeeded in getting anchor institutions included in the BEAD and CPF programs. I stepped down from this position in April 2025 to start my own firm, called Telepoly as a sole practitioner. Prior to SHLB, I led an industry coalition of competitive local exchange carriers (called ALTS) for five years. I previously served as a staff attorney for the U.S. Senate Commerce Commmittee and helped to draft the 1996 Telecommunications Act. I began my career at the FCC and have degrees from Yale (BS) and the UCLA School of Law (JD). NOTE: I am considering launching a new group called the "Community Wireless Coalition" to influence Congressional and FCC policies. If successful, I might launch the Coalition at Broadband Nation, but it is too early to commit to that.
