Jonathan Adelstein
EVP, Chief Strategy and External Affairs Officer
Bio:
Jonathan S. Adelstein is Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and External Affairs Officer for TWN Communications. In addition to strategy, Jonathan serves TWN in regulatory, compliance, and policy roles. He assists TWN and its partners to grow their infrastructure in conjunction with an array of sources of capital. He also serves as a Senior Advisor for Vertical Bridge, the nation’s largest private tower company.
He was previously Managing Director and Head of Global Policy for DigitalBridge, an investment manager focused on digital infrastructure, including fiber and wireless, with over $100 billion in assets under management. Prior to that, he served for ten years as the CEO of the Wireless Infrastructure Association.
Jonathan has deep experience at Federal telecommunications agencies, having been appointed by President Obama to serve as the head of the Rural Utilities Service (RUS), after he was appointed twice by President Bush to serve as an FCC commissioner for 7 years, positions for which he was confirmed unanimously three times by the U.S. Senate. Prior to the FCC, he was a staff member in the US Senate, culminating in the Office of the Senate Majority Leader. He has successfully directed Federal funding to address rural community broadband infrastructure challenges, including his leadership in heading RUS when it delivered over $3 billion in broadband funding under the 2009 Recovery Act.
Mr. Adelstein received an MA in History and a BA, with Distinction, in Political Science from Stanford University. He taught in the History Department at Harvard \and Stanford University. He is a graduate of Phillips Academy, Andover.
